Custom Pilates Reformer Built to Your Specification
A custom pilates reformer is a machine configured for how you actually train and sell, not a one-size-fits-all catalog model. Megacore builds custom reformers for studios, chains and brands that need a specific carriage feel, spring set, finish or footprint. Since 2003 we have manufactured pilates equipment in our own factory in Guangdong, which means changes are handled on the production floor rather than outsourced. This page covers what can be customized, what needs engineering review, and how a custom build moves from first brief through sample approval to shipping.
What You Can Customize on a Reformer
Customization falls into two groups: the things that change how a machine looks and brands, and the things that change how it performs. Both are possible, but they carry different levels of engineering work.
We start by understanding the training style and the market, then propose a configuration that fits it.
- Spring count and resistance range for your class style
- Carriage height, padding and upholstery feel
- Frame finish and branded detailing
- Footprint and storage format for tight studios
- Accessory set shipped with each unit

The Custom Build Process
A custom order runs through requirements confirmation, drawings or a sample plan, sample production, your approval, mass production, inspection and finally shipping.
You approve a physical sample before we scale. That single step avoids the most expensive mistake in custom manufacturing: producing a batch that is not quite right.

Minimum Orders for custom pilates machines
Custom orders require minimum quantities that vary by the complexity of the customization. Frame color changes and standard upholstery options typically require a minimum of 3 to 5 units. Full OEM or ODM programs with unique specifications generally start at 10 to 20 units per model. These minimums ensure that we can maintain consistent quality across your order while keeping production efficient and cost-effective for your budget.
Lead times for custom orders range from 4 to 8 weeks depending on complexity. Standard customization (color and upholstery) adds approximately 1 to 2 weeks to our standard production timeline. Full OEM projects with engineering and tooling requirements add 2 to 4 weeks for prototyping before production begins on your order.
Quality Control for custom pilates machines
Custom Pilates machines undergo the same quality control processes as our standard commercial models. Each unit is inspected at multiple production stages — raw material verification, in-process welding and assembly checks, and final testing before packaging. We provide testing documentation, including quality inspection reports such as report number GZHL2601000020601SP for material composition and structural integrity verification.
All custom machines carry our standard 3-year warranty on frames and structural components. Wear items such as springs, ropes, and upholstery are covered for 1 year. Spare parts are available for all custom configurations, and our support team can assist with maintenance questions throughout the lifecycle of your equipment.
Foire aux questions
You can change finish, branding, spring configuration, upholstery and accessory sets readily. Structural changes such as carriage dimensions or footprint are possible but need engineering review and a new sample, because they affect load ratings and warranty. We will tell you clearly which category your request falls into.
Yes, for any custom configuration. A pre-production sample is built to your spec, and mass production only begins after you approve it in writing. This is the most reliable way to protect both sides on a custom order and it is standard practice for us.
It depends on the model and how far the customization goes, so we confirm it per project. Deeply custom builds usually need a higher minimum than light branding changes, because setup and tooling effort is greater.
Yes, we powder-coat to your brand palette as part of a customization project, and this is quoted with the order. powder-coat colors available Send your colour reference and we will confirm the closest match.
